Teeth are meant to last forever, but sometimes our teeth can be damaged from tooth decay or even accidents. Our Lincroft NJ dental office is here to help you achieve a better and brighter smile. And that means fixing your teeth with great technology that will keep your mouth functional for years to come.

When you come to Newman Springs Dental Care, you can expect elite services in all aspects of general dentistry. We also are using the most advanced technology to restore your mouth. Dental crowns are extremely common, but the problem is that most dental offices place crowns over the course of two or three visits. That’s a lot of time to ask patients to spend at the office. That’s why we’re using digital technology to place crowns in a single day.

Today we want to run through some of the major benefits of our same-day crowns.

Same-Day Crowns Means Precise Results

Our same-day crown system, CEREC, uses digital scanning technology and a special in-house milling system to give you great-looking crowns in about 90 minutes. Similar to our teeth-whitening services, you can slip away from work for an extended lunch break and return with your damaged teeth protected with a functional, beautiful crown.

The digital scan allows us to find the best fit for the crown. A great fit is everything when it comes to restorations. The crown may be less successful and long lasting if it’s too big or small — or doesn’t fit over the tooth perfectly. Because we’re using a digital scan, we can get the perfect impression. CEREC does not require goopy impressions that are uncomfortable and often make patients gag. That’s a major relief to our patients!

You won’t have to wear a temporary

Most dental offices use a two-step system to place dental crowns. That’s because they don’t have an in-office milling station to fabricate the crown on the spot. So they require patients to wear a temporary crown. Temporary crowns can be a big hassle. They are often smaller in size, and the temporary restorations are made from acrylic material that is not as natural-looking or lifelike as the all-ceramic material used for permanent crowns. Patients sometimes have to spend a few weeks — or even months — wearing a temporary crown. The timeframe all depends on your schedule, the labs schedule, and the dentist’s schedule.

At Newman Springs Dental Care, you won’t have to spend any time wearing a temporary crown. You’ll have the permanent crown on the same day you schedule your procedure.

CEREC Crowns Are Metal-Free

Most dental offices have made the change from metal-fused-to-porcelain crowns to simply solid ceramic crowns. Using CEREC, we fashion your crown from a solid chunk of ceramic material. Ceramic material is extremely strong and durable. It’s less prone to chipping or fracturing, and there is no metal! Metal-based crowns are extremely strong, but they often leave a black line near the gum line. For that reason, we think that all-ceramic crowns are a much more aesthetic option.
