Dr. Friedman earned his DDS from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1984, graduating in the top 15 percent of his class. He’s since earned many honors, including a mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction that only 2 percent of all dentists have achieved.
After earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from India’s Manipal University, Dr. Menon studied at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, earning a spot on the dean’s honor list for two years. She graduated in 2015 and completed a yearlong residency at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Newman Springs Dental Care is my happy place, and when I tell people I'm going to the dentist, and they say, “Oh, I'm sorry,” I say, “Oh, no, no. I love going there.” The staff here is fabulous. They have such a great camaraderie so you know that they're happy working here. And the one thing I would say is that they have a way of making you feel like you are their favorite patient. Everybody has that way about them here, and I think that starts at the top with Dr. Friedman.
One of my crowns had come off, and that was on a Saturday, and he saw me that morning and had a permanent solution within a few days. And even more importantly, the whole thing was done painlessly through sedation dentistry, and now I am proud to smile. I think my teeth look great.
Well, we moved back to New Jersey about four years ago. And one of the things that I was scared about was finding a new dentist and finding a place that, a couple of things: one is that I would feel comfortable as soon as I walked in, second of all, a place where I could get the (inaudible) gas. Having the choice to not have to feel the pain was wonderful, and that's one of the reasons I'm here, is not every dentist will do that. I mean, I need gas just to get my teeth cleaned.
The staff is wonderful. The people are wonderful. The doctors make you feel really comfortable, and I found that I wasn't quite so afraid, and I have managed to get pretty much most of my family here.
Common Questions From Our Patients
Dental implants are small titanium posts that we place in your jaw to serve as artificial teeth roots. Once they are placed, new bone material will begin to grow around the implant, and the implant and your jaw will fuse together. In most cases, after a healing period your implants will be ready to anchor new replacement teeth such as crowns, bridges, and dentures.
Dental veneers are thin pieces of luminescent material that are bonded into place on the front of teeth that are chipped, pitted, fractured, slightly gapped, worn, or misshapen. They will instantly create a better-looking smile. Veneers can also be used to strengthen and protect damaged teeth to help prevent additional problems.
We know there are different kinds of orthodontic patients, so we offer more than one type of orthodontic treatment. Depending on your needs, you can choose from either Invisalign orthodontics or Six Month Smiles. Invisalign uses clear plastic teeth aligners to straighten your teeth, while Six Month Smiles focuses on straightening the teeth that show when you smile.
