Definitely something from my childhood, my parents always pushed me to do what I wanted to do. And so when I was growing up, I knew that healthcare was something that motivated me. I’ve always wanted to help patients. I wanted to, you know, help people.
I had a bad experience as a child going to my pediatric dentist. Afterwards, my mom took me to her dentist, which was a general dentist, and he made me feel so comfortable. I felt like I was at home. He was very gentle, very charismatic, and took his time to explain it to me as a child, which was really important to me. And I think that experience just left such a positive influence on my life that when I got to college, I realized that dentistry was something that really was for me.
I think the most rewarding part honestly, is not only getting to meet patients and meet a ton of people from different backgrounds, it’s that when they come in and if they’re in pain, or if they have something that is uncomfortable to them or displeases them, that you know, we’re there to not only…we have their back, but we’re there to help alleviate their pain, fix their problem, and really just get them leaving in a better place. Whether it’s out of pain, whether it’s they’re more pleased with the way that they look, it’s all about for me, taking care of the patient and making sure that they leave happy and healthy.
Dr. Rana Sayroo Believes in Cutting-Edge Care
As a child, Dr. Rana Sayroo always had positive experiences with her family dentist and looked forward to her checkups. The pleasant treatment she received from her dentist, along with encouragement from her family, motivated her to pursue dentistry as a career.
Dr. Sayroo is a native of Tampa, Florida and a graduate of King High School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. (Go Gators!) Dr. Sayroo attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where she was awarded her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. During her years at VCU, she spent many hours volunteering for Mission of Mercy projects that gave her the opportunity to provide high-quality dental care to underserved Virginians.
Dr. Sayroo then took her education a step further by enrolling in a general practice residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. The residency took a multidisciplinary approach to providing comprehensive dental care to a diverse group of patients.
Dr. Sayroo provides ethical and evidence-based dentistry while focusing on her patients’ needs and concerns. She routinely takes continuing education courses to enhance her knowledge and stay on the leading edge of the ever-changing world of dentistry. Dr. Sayroo is also a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the New Jersey Dental Association. She aims to deliver high-quality dental care in a comfortable and pleasant environment, similar to the one she experienced as a child.
In her spare time, Dr. Sayroo enjoys working out, spending time with her family, traveling, and baking. She especially likes to bake different desserts based on recipes passed down from her grandfather, who owned a bakery in Florida. In her undergraduate years, Dr. Sayroo was a member of several dance teams and still enjoys practicing traditional Indian dance styles.
Dr. Sayroo is excited to be a part of Newman Springs Dental Care and strives to uphold the goals and visions of our practice.
